Stereoskopik gözlükler sayesinde kullanıcı 3D grafikleri ve görselleri havada asılı ve yüzer şekilde görür. Kullanılan takip ediciler ve giyilebilir teknolojiler sayesinde de gördükleri objelerin etrafında gezebilir, objelere yakınlaşabilir, bunlardan uzaklaşabilir ve gerçekte yaptığı her şeyi dijital görüntü üzerinde yapabilir.

Gerçeklik illüzyonunu sağlayabilmek için çok yüksek çözünürlüklerde projektör sistemleri kullanılır.

Kullanıcıların hareketlerinin sensörler kullanılarak takip edilmesiyle de görüntü sürekli olarak kullanıcının bakış açısına göre düzeltilir ve sanal gerçeklik teknolojisi ile gerçek dünya algısı oluşur.
